Help From our Friends
One thing is for sure: we can't sail this ship without you. A project such as Pegasus thrives on the invlovement and active support of the surrounding community.
So many people have given so much, and for this generousity of time, purse and spirit we are grateful and moved. Our volunteers have contributed in a number of different and personal ways, offering time and energy to our organization and its participants. Some people help out at the Thrift Store, other by teaching literacy, or accompanying participants on outings, helping with cooking, or teaching crafts. We would like to thank everyone who has tried and made a difference; those who have helped us reach just a little bit further. It's wonderful that we all share a common goal.
The Meteor Group
Our Meteor Group is a special group of donors, distinguished by the fact that they are repeat donors at the Perseus level and above. But their support doesn't stop there - they also demonstrate a sustained interest in all aspects of our work. They ask questions, listen to what we have to say, promote the agency to their own social and business contacts. Together, the Meteors play a significant role in the success of the agency and they are aware of how this translates into quality programming.
Here's a brief profile of the Meteors and their activities over the past years. If you would like to discuss joining the Meteors, please call 416 691 5651, or email marie@pegasuscommunityproject.com.
C.O.R.E. Digital Pictures has been supporting Pegasus since 1998, when they bought us our first office and program computers and software. They have since supported Pegasus through many expansions, keeping us all supplied with technology and keeping it all running. This winter, personnel from the Systems department spent endless hours updating equipment and dealing with some stubborn problems at the office. Their president, Ron Estey, always has time to keep up-to-date about our work and our friends in Systems are great ambassadors for the rest of the company. Extra thanks to them for hosting our new website!
Robert and Mary Gore are also known to many of you as Robert E. Gore, Chartered Accountant on Kingston Road and Fallingbrook. However, they first jumped aboard our ship with both feet in 1993, when they lived across the street from our home office on Silverbirch Avenue. Bob has made In kind donations from the business, given many wise words of advice and both Bob and Mary support all aspects of the agency.
Janice Lewis is known to many of you as the fit person who appeared on the front page of our 2005 newsletter, and who subsequently raised $8,000 in sponsorship for her first marathon in 2005. This was perhaps her most public effort, but she has been a regular donor and participant since 1993. She organized our first party fundraiser and was a partner in crime for many of our legendary garage sales. She has played a role in the events sponsored by Mitchell Cohen and the Daniels Corporation.
Toronto Beach Rotary Club continues to offer financial support to Pegasus through their Annual Bowlathon. They mount this event on their own, and it provides an opportunity for Pegasus to enlist its own teams and thus derive extra benefit from their efforts. We have been working together since 2001 and consider Rotary to be community partners - we share a common vision for an enriched community.
Trends International Publishing and Phil and Debra St. Jean. As the owner of Trends, it's hard to separate Phil from the company. Since 1996, Phil has been both a private and coporate donor. He has founded Trends' Charities, which supports Pegasus as well as similar charities, through funds raised at the Annual Ski Day at Craigleith. As well, Trends employees are very generous through a payroll deduction system which is matched by the company.
